This, however, did not lead SurveyMonkey to abandon its reputation for ease of use. In fact, getting started with the product begins as soon as you open an account when the website asks you a series of optional questions to optimize the help it provides. It offers the choice of a wide range of applications, including customer satisfaction, employee engagement, event registrations, commentary and market research. This is a great online survey tool, but it did not win our Editor’s Choice. This designation goes to the competitor Qualtrics (Visit the Qualtrics website).
While many survey apps offer a selection of templates to choose from, SurveyMonkey puts them front and center. These include support for that close cousin of surveys, quizzes, which SurveyMonkey will score automatically.
After that, the website provides a five-section guide to designing, testing, deploying and analyzing the results which have become a solid template for survey applications. SurveyMonkey’s 14 standard question types include all the basics. Consistent with other parts of the app, SurveyMonkey offers many easy-to-use options in its response report page. Its mid-price point offers a solid mix of features for an aggressive price tag, but more advanced survey designers will likely want to look elsewhere.
