SurveyMonkey will be renamed Momentive

June 9, 2021

DIY research software company SurveyMonkey is relaunched as an experience management company called Momentive. Parent company SVMK will begin operating under the Momentive Global name from June 15, although the company says its “flagship survey product will retain the beloved SurveyMonkey name”.

Founded in 1999 by brothers Ryan and Chris Finley, the company today known as Momentive offers online subscription tools through which individuals can create surveys, collect responses and analyze survey results, as well as than an Enterprise version, for companies wishing to collect, compare and share feedback data related to the business. Momentive’s dedicated solutions are offered in five categories: Market Insight, Brand Insight, Employee Experience, Customer Experience, and Product Experience.

Last year, the company combined its customer experience (CX) solutions from its acquisition of CX management company GetFeedback and Voice of the Customer (VoC) technology provider Usabilla into a single umbrella brand, known as the GetFeedback suite name. In addition, the company’s portfolio includes SurveyMonkey for managing business feedback and the group’s brand and market analysis solution, formerly known as SurveyMonkey Market Research Solutions.

CEO Zander Lurie (photo) comments: “We changed that twenty years ago by creating the survey software category, and we are proud of how we have evolved our offerings, our customers and our ambitions. Momentive harnesses world-class technology in all of our categories of solutions, and we put people at the center of how we design our products, serve our customers, and deliver to our community and our shareholders. Lurie said in an email to users that the new name “conjures up images of speed and agility, movement and movement.”

The parent company will operate under the stock symbol MNTV and SurveyMonkey will operate under the name Momentive from July 1.
