Best SurveyMonkey Alternatives for Small Businesses

Polls are everywhere. Every online purchase wants to be evaluated. Your doctor wants to know how he behaved during your last visit. Then there are generalist “what do you like most” polls and political opinion polls. If you’ve always wanted to create your own survey, you have a plethora of options, the most popular being SurveyMonkey.

Some of these survey tools offer deep integration with apps you may already be using, and the range of features can be confusing as each offering has its own strengths and weaknesses. For basic customer service surveys, one of the following solutions will work. Be sure to think about your intentions and how you plan to use the results before spending too much time on any of them. Each of these tools offers a free version, or at least a free trial, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basics. One of them, QSM, stands out for being free with a great set of tools – as long as you have a WordPress site to host it.

Here’s our rundown of our six favorite SurveyMonkey alternatives.

Zoho Poll

Zoho Survey is part of Zoho’s suite of apps, so its integrations with Zoho spreadsheets and CRM apps extend its usefulness. Like many survey apps, Zoho Survey offers a free version limited to 10 questions and 100 answers, but offers an unlimited number of surveys. Paid versions start at $ 20 per month, but for $ 25 per month the Pro version adds features that any serious survey editor will want, such as exporting results and integrating with Tableau.

Formatting is pretty straightforward with drag-and-drop question placement, and there are over 25 question formats to choose from. The app offers real-time reports and multiple forms of analysis to uncover trends and dig deeper into results. Zoho Survey is powerful, easy to use, and ideal for users already engaged in the Zoho software suite.

Sparrow Poll

SurveySparrow offers a free version of its survey platform that is limited to three surveys of 10 questions and 100 responses per month for you to learn and assess its capabilities. Its paid versions have more features including logic, jumping, piping, and webhooks to integrate with external systems. The Premium version allows unlimited answers and questions for $ 49 per month, but users who want to customize the design with custom CSS will need the Enterprise version for $ 199 per month.

The paid versions of SurveySparrow also include highly customizable email responses and visuals to enhance the user experience. Integration is available through webhooks, the SurveySparrow API, and Zapier’s extensive integration library, which offers connections to CRMs, HMRs and more.

SoGoSurvey

The free tier of SoGoSurvey offers unlimited surveys with an unlimited number of questions, but only 200 responses per year, which makes it useful for learning more about the capabilities of the system but not for serious use. Paid versions expand capabilities with options like jump logic, random questions, personalized invitation emails, and extended question types in the company’s Pro plan for $ 40 per month.

Various survey templates, predefined questions and different types of questions make SoGoSurvey quick and easy to set up, run and possibly report. Export and integration is a strong point of the paid versions of the system, which include direct export to SoGoSurvey1, Microsoft Access, SPSS, XML and Zapier.

QuestionPro

QuestionPro’s free tier offers unlimited surveys, each with up to 10 questions, but is limited to 100 responses per month. The pro version offers jump logic and piping as well as theme customization for $ 15 per month. Serious use starts with its Corporate version for $ 75 per month, which adds integration capabilities with SPSS and APIs, as well as an advanced selection of question types.

QuestionPro offers a variety of templates to help you get started designing your surveys based on QuestionPro’s experience. A special iPad app and multimedia support are only available at the Enterprise level, as are branch logic and customizable survey themes.

Have a return

GetFeedback specifically targets customer service feedback, but that doesn’t prevent users from creating surveys to collect other information. The 14-day free trial is available for all subscription levels, starting at $ 50 per month for the professional plan, which includes 1,000 responses per month, hook-up logic, and basic reports. The advanced version, available for $ 150 per month, increases the number of responses to 1,500 per month and removes the GetFeedback mark from your surveys.

The Enterprise tier extends capabilities with API integration and advanced analytics, and GetFeedback offers integration with Salesforce at its highest level. To obtain Enterprise or Salesforce level pricing, you must consult a GetFeedback sales representative.

Quiz and Survey Master for WordPress (QSM)

Quiz and Survey Master is a WordPress plugin, making it a viable option for businesses with WordPress websites. The plugin is free, so your business can create a WordPress site exclusively to host QSM. QSM allows an unlimited number of surveys and responses, and it can send emails to users and administrators upon completion of a survey. It is limited to 10 question types and however does not include jump logic.

QSM offers a series of add-ons starting at $ 10 each, also available as a package for $ 98 per year. Besides skipping the logic, there are add-ons to remove the QMS branding, add landing pages, run reports, and export results. Integrations are available for Mailchimp, Slack, AWeber, MailPoet, and Zapier for even more connections.
