Austin-based market research and investigation firm QuestionPro has acquired Dallas-based Care Experience, a healthcare-focused customer experience platform.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
QuestionPro, which started in 2005, moved its headquarters to Austin from San Francisco this year. It offers a platform capable of conducting surveys, building models, automating reports and other survey-related services. It competes with the giants of survey companies such as SurveyMonkey and Qualtrics.
Care Experience offers a business unit for patient feedback. Its customer experience technology serves approximately 100 hospital systems across the country and is designed to help healthcare companies understand the voice and experience of the patient throughout care.
QuestionPro CEO and Founder Vivek Bhaskaran said the acquisition underscores QuestionPro’s commitment to growth as it is QuestionPro’s fourth acquisition. . Bhaskaran said the QuestionPro platform has more advanced technological offerings, but carries less clout in healthcare. Gaining care experience adds a segment focused on healthcare, he said.
“We look forward to supporting Care Experience clients over the next several years and are excited about this revolutionary approach to the patient experience,” said Bhaskaran. “With the combination of QuestionPro CX and Care Experience, the patient’s voice becomes a powerful and effective tool in delivering quality care. “
As part of the acquisition, Care Experience customers will transition to the QuestionPro platform and technology offerings.
“Part of our business is what we call the customer experience. It’s a healthcare-driven customer experience. Bhaskaran said. “This is where we saw the opportunity (adding Care Experience). “
Bhaskaran said QuestionPro may look to add more segments to the business in the future as the business grows.
Gautam Mahtani, founder of Care Experience, will become senior director of patient experience for QuestionPro and lead the company’s Dallas office.
“When we thought about the right partner for us on our trip, we assessed three main criteria: innovation, commitment and entrepreneurial culture,” Mahtani said in a written statement. “We were able to find this with QuestionPro and are delighted to have our Patient Feedback Business Unit join them. “
Care Experience’s has ten employees. Some of them will either join QuestionPro’s Austin office or work remotely, the company said.
QuestionPro has approximately 18 employees based in Austin and approximately 200 around the world. It is present in Germany, the United Arab Emirates, India and Mexico. Bhaskaran said the plan is to grow the company’s Austin team to around 60 employees by the end of the year.
